dod Roberta's best guess based on children's deaths
more from Roberta from email 3 Nov 1999:
but wanted to clarify the dates on Nancy Robinson Barber for you:..... she was born on January 10, 1834 and died on
February 9, ?? clearly marked on her original stone.... date of death eroded off..... but if you calculate the dates on the remaining
stones of her two infant death children you can figure it out: #1 infant b 3/29/1855 d 6/20/1856 very clear on stone #2 was John
Mosely Barber b. 6/3/1857 d. 1/5/1939 #3 was Charles Lieuen Barber b. 4/9/1861 d. 1/4/1937 #4 infant b. 3/9/1863 d/
10/20/1863 both dates very clear on stone #5 infant is when Nancy probably died in childbirth for which there is no stone....
but since Nancy's death date clearly reads "February 9, ..." it would be impossible for her to have died one month before her #4
infant was born...(which was March 9, 1863). Benjamin remarried to Elizabeth Ann Jane Williams on October 25, 1864 which
would have been eight months after Nancy and the fifth infant died. That would have had Nancy giving birth to #4 in March,
1863 and then pregnant and birth of #5 eleven months later in February, 1864. That's how I arrived at the year of 1864 for her
death...
