  • Notes
    • That Enoch is Jacob's father is speculation based on gift of land to Jacob from Enoch in 1771 "for natural love and
affection"; 90 ac on Rocky River in then Orange County; also:
Carol Galbreath gives Enoch and Jesse as brothers and sons of Thomas Pugh; Thomas arrived in North Carolina in 1756; Enoch and
Jesse were accepted in Cane Creek Friends in 1760. Enoch was disowned by Friends in 1766 for marrying "out of unity",
establishing his marriage date. Jacob was born about 1767, from Gary ONeal notes. In 1771 Enoch gave the land to his
two sons, and I've found no further record of Enoch. In 1778 a "widow Pugh" is mentioned on Rocky River, and in the
1790 census there is a Rachel Pugh head of household listed in Randolph County.
The Charles Pugh reunion sheet gives dob 1735

The Rouths of Randolph County give dob 1745
