  • Notes
    • Old River Country, p 280: gives the story of his death on the Ohio River while
on the way to Texas with Steven Austin colonists. His wife, daughter, and sons
continued on and settled in New Orleans. Daughter Caroline married David L.
Kokernot in New Orleans and moved to Texas in 1832 with her mother and
brothers. This account is not entirely reliable--it has the Maleys arriving N.O. 1830-31 when Caroline married Kokernot before that (1829). And it has Juliana helping wounded soldiers (she was in N.O.)
